On September 30th we received news from an Illinois High School that a choking incident occurred. A 15-year-old girl choked on a garlic clove while eating lunch. All choking rescue procedures were followed by the lunch aid as well as the school nurse, but the attempts failed.
The school nurse called for someone to get the unit out of the cabinet where the AED is also kept. LifeVac successfully dislodged the piece of garlic on the third application. We are thankful this district has a LifeVac in the cafeteria in all 5 schools.

]]>“My daughter was buckled into her car seat when we were in the drive-thru. She was coughing like something was stuck although she had nothing with her. She may have picked up something that was left behind in her car seat or something. I quickly put the car in park to see if I could see anything. She was having difficulty breathing. I pulled our travel kit from under the seat and quickly used it on her. She was perfectly fine after that.”

On the first attempt by the child’s mother the rescue device successfully opened her airway
Here is the mothers testimonial.
]]>“Elia and her older sister had just sat down, and they were both eating a bowl of ice cream. My dad was walking by and told me that Elia had dropped her spoonful of ice cream on the floor. I looked up from the kitchen, about 5 steps away from where she was at the dining room table, to see that Elia’s eyes were huge and she was starting to panic. She tried to take a drink of water, I heard her gurgling, she grabbed at her mouth, and a lot of ice cream was bubbling out of her mouth and nose. I said, “She’s choking!!” I then rushed over and started performing the Heimlich on her, it wasn’t working. My dad rushed to the spot I told him I kept the LifeVac and he ripped it all open for me. I quickly handed Elia to my dad, and he held her to his chest. I placed the LifeVac on her face and plunged it one time and all of the ice cream came out of both her mouth and nose, and she started to cry.
I am so thankful that I purchased this about a year ago, I never want this to happen again. One use was all it took to help her. I am also so thankful that my dad was there to help me.”
On September 26th it was reported to us that an 8-week-old baby girl, choked on formula, (suffers from a severe form of reflux/GERD causing a total blockage. The child’s father tried using a suction device given to him by his department. It is a standard battery-powered vacuum pump.He tried suctioning her for about 30 seconds, but it didn’t work. He had a LifeVac in his car and ran with his unconscious infant daughter to the garage. He laid on her back on the hood of the car and used the LifeVac device. We are so thankful this precious baby is okay.
]]>“I’ve been a 911 dispatcher for 16 years and never heard of this device until I saw a segment on tv about it. I’ve instructed hundreds of people on the Heimlich and CPR, but this device made a significant difference. If the LifeVac had not opened her airway on that third attempt, I was going to start CPR. As with all of the episodes before this one, Abigail was perfectly fine but exhausted from the episode and went back to sleep. The video attached is of what our garage camera caught. In the third clip, you can briefly see me drop the LifeVac and it slides down the car hood. We’ve been in and out of the hospital several times trying to figure out the cause and a solution and we’re still looking into it. The reason I am telling you this story is that LifeVac made a believer out of me. I don’t think she would’ve survived without it. Thank you! Without a doubt, LifeVac saved her life.”

Whatever it was would not come up He would cry, and it would lodge again, and he would start choking all over again. I tried mouth sweeps after each time he started crying post blows, but never got anything. I remembered I bought a LifeVac a year ago because my grandma requested one just in case something happened, and I wasn’t home. While dad called 911, my Grandma quickly assembled the LifeVac. At this point, he was starting to turn blue around his mouth. After 2 attempts, he started screaming and breathing on his own. 911 showed up around a minute later. Here is the testimonial from the gentleman’s brother:
]]>“The incident happened back in 2021. My twin brother suffered from a condition called PSP- a frontal lobe disorder for which there is no cure. As his disease progressed, he was unable to feed himself, let alone walk or talk. I was watching YouTube one day when I came across your advertisement. I was about to SKIP Ad when I saw a man in a wheelchair and the situation looked familiar. My biggest fear was that I would be feeding my brother and he choked to death under my care. I saw the benefits of your product and bought it immediately. It is a decision that will go down as the best decision I could possibly have made.
“One day I was feeding him a White Castle Burger, but I must have left it in the microwave for a few seconds too long. My brother took a bite and swallowed but it became lodged in his throat. The look in his eyes told me everything. It was the look of sheer terror as he could not speak. I jumped into action and grabbed the device and followed my initial training. The first time failed because my brother’s mouth was not open enough. I collected my thoughts and took a deep breath. I knew that this product was NOT going to fail. So the second time I had him open his mouth as wide as he could and began to use the LifeVac. Within three plunges, the WCB has dislodged. When I saw my brother take a breath of air, I was so relieved because he would surely have died-there is no doubt in my mind. He and I both thank you. I don’t think I could live with myself had he choked to death in front of me and I was unable to do anything about it. Thank you SO much and God Bless.”
Sadly, his brother passed away from complications of the disease. Our deepest condolences go out to the family.
